We are delighted to announce our new ‘community partner’ is The Larder

We are delighted to announce our new ‘Community Partner’ is social enterprise, The Larder, which provides learning opportunities and access to food for disadvantaged children, young people and adults in West Lothian.

Over the years we’ve supported various charities and social enterprises as part of our ‘Support in the Community’ initiative to help provide awareness-raising and fundraising opportunities, including free pop-up space in the shopping centre, a £250 Gift Card donation and marketing support.

The Larder, which was founded in 2010 by Angela Moohan, was established to address the rise in youth unemployment in West Lothian. Since then, The Larder has helped support over 3,000 young people and adults to access training, good quality food, learn how to cook and develop their own personal pathways to work.

The Larder has a bakery and Hospitality Training Academy in Brucefield Industrial Estate and cafés in Blackburn and Broxburn. They also offer catering services and have an online bakery.

The social enterprise has also delivered over 200,000 freshly made meals to people experiencing food insecurity across West Lothian, following referrals from a range of social partners.

The Larder also works with West Lothian Council and other Third Sector organisations to support local parents into work through the new Partnership for Parents programme and run various courses to help young people build confidence and gain qualifications to help steer them into new careers and directions in life.

Shoppers can find out more about The Larder at their pop-ups at The Centre, Livingston located near New Look on Saturday the 1st June.
