Charity of the Month: The Bridge Community Project

This month, as part of our Support in the Community Initiative, we’re shining a spotlight on our Charity of the Month – The Bridge Community Project.

The West Lothian charity, based at Shairps Business Park in Livingston, was co-founded by Alan Davidson, Chief Executive Officer in 2014, to help make a difference to the everyday wellbeing of people across West Lothian by providing practical and relational support to families and individuals.

It specialises in mental health support with affordable counselling, starting from a minimum donation of £15 per hour for 12 weekly sessions, in areas including bereavement, stress and trauma.

The charity also offers residents of West Lothian a free Financial Wellbeing Service to help build mental and emotional resilience around financial matters, including budgeting and debt control.

The Bridge Wellbeing Hub, which was purchased by the charity in 2021, features six client counselling rooms and a fully renovated kitchen where they run 1-2-1 cooking classes. There’s also a breakout space for workshops and webinars which they host regularly on everything from Practical Life Skills and Emotional Wellbeing to Dealing with Bereavement and Money Matters through ‘The Stepping Stones to Wellbeing’ service.

They currently have 17 part-time qualified counsellors and 35 volunteers, and are always on the lookout for more.

As part of our charity partnership The Bridge Community Project will receive a £250 Gift Card donation and free pop-up space in the mall on 26th and 27th August to help raise awareness of the great work they are doing and the services and invaluable support they offer in the local community. Why not pop along for more information?
